Service Description

This course aims to provide an understanding of the common causes of fire, fire effects and behaviour and what to do in the event of a fire emergency. Who Should Attend? Those who wish to gain a basic understanding of general fire safety and corresponding health & safety legislation in the workplace and an awareness of safety procedures and fire control measures. Course Content Fire related incidents Legislation and Guidance Health & Safety at Work Act Management of Health & Safety at Work Regs Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order Fire & Effects Common causes of fire Fire triangle Effects of fuel / heat / oxygen Fire Classification Fire extinguisher types and usage Control Measures Fire signage / fire doors / emergency lighting Fire Safety Principles Raising the alarm and evacuation Recognising unsafe acts and behaviour Assessment & Certification Theoretical Assessment Successful delegates will receive a certificate, valid for 3 years. Course Duration This is a 1/2 day course. Maximum attendees: 10 delegates.
